The Jolynne tank and dress is an easy PDF sewing pattern to make a FAB basic tank or a dress with a regular or swirl circle skirt with optional pockets. The bodice of Jolynne comes with 2 backs: one with a regular back and one with a low scooped back. The tank comes in 4 lengths: crop top, long crop, tank and extra long. This enables you to effortlessly create your preferred length.

Skill Level for the Jolynne Tank and Dress
Jolynne is suitable for beginners. The tank option is even perfect as first ever sewing project. The hardest element of the pattern is the swirl circle skirt, because of all curved seams. If you carefully sew according to the correct seam allowance, even the swirl skirt is perfectly manageable for beginners,

Suggested material for the Jolynne Tank and Dress
To create a Jolynne Tank and Dress, we suggest to use medium weight knit fabrics with at least 30% stretch like: cotton lycra, jersey, interlock or French terry. You can also use a more light weight knit fabric like cotton spandex, but keep in mind that you might need to size down if you choose to use a thinner fabric or a fabric type with more stretch than recommended. Please keep in mind to use similar fabrics for the various colorblocks to create a nice garment. Using fabrics with different characteristics regarding stretch and weight can cause an imperfect outcome like an asymmetrical or saggy swirl skirt.
For the bands you can choose to use the same fabric as the dress (main fabric) or use ready-made elastic binding tape. The Jolynne Tank and Dress comes with pattern pieces for the different types of fabrics, but you might need to adjust depending on the amount of stretch and recovery if you choose a different type of fabric for the bands.
