The Mushio Sweater is a PDF sewing pattern to create a fun unisex sweater with a bold rounded waistband. It has a scuba hood which can be made with a faux or functional drawstring, but if you don’t like the hood, a normal neckband is also provided. For the sleeves you can choose short sleeves, long regular sleeves or long bishop sleeves. You can give it a girly twist with some extra shoulder flutters if you like. If you like pockets, you can add the roomy kangaroo pocket. The wrist cuffs are normal cuffs or add the fun thumb hole cuffs for extra coziness. As always with Fab For You Patterns, there’s also a tip section with some fun ideas to make even more out of the pattern.
Skill Level for the Mushio Sweater
The Mushio Sweater is perfectly suitable for beginners. The only potentially interesting features are the kangaroo pocket, the thumb hole cuffs and the rounded waistband. However, every part of the construction is explained clearly and step by step in the instructions. If you’ve never sewn a sweater before: you got this!

Suggested material for the Mushio Sweater
To create a Mushio Sweater, we suggest to use medium weight knit fabrics with at least 30% stretch like: cotton lycra, interlock, French terry, velvet, sweater knit or sponge. You can also use a more light weight knit fabric, but keep in mind that you might need to size down if you choose to use a thinner fabric or a fabric type with more stretch than recommended.
For the bands you can choose to use either ribbing or use the same fabric as the sweater (main fabric). The Mushio Sweater comes with pattern pieces for the different types of fabrics, but you might need to adjust depending on the amount of stretch and recovery if you choose a different type of fabric for the bands.
Optional haberdashery
If you like to create the hood with drawstring, either faux or functional, you need cord and 2 or 4 eyelets.
