Neoma Shirt & Dress (NB-14Y)

The Neoma Shirt and Dress is a fun and chic PDF sewing pattern that lets you create a FAB shirt or dress with optional flounces in two widths (rolled hem or hemmed, regular and large) across the bodice front and back. The Neoma dress also features a half circle skirt and pockets. The Neoma shirt and dress are designed to wear every season, including short, half and long sleeves. Instructions to make a sleeveless Neoma are included.

As with all Fab For You Patterns, the Neoma Shirt and Dress includes detailed instructions and a tip section to spark your creativity.

Skill Level for the Neoma Shirt and Dress

Neoma is suitable for beginners. The hardest elements of the pattern are the flounces across the front and back of the bodice. However, every part of the construction is explained clearly and step by step in the instructions. So if you’re just starting your sewing adventure and you’d like to try a fun shirt or dress with a cute style: You should definitely try Neoma!

Suggested material for the Neoma Shirt and Dress

To create a Neoma Shirt and Dress, we suggest to use medium weight knit fabrics with at least 30% stretch like: cotton lycra, jersey, interlock or French terry. You can also use a more light weight knit fabric like cotton spandex, but keep in mind that you might need to size down if you choose to use a thinner fabric or a fabric type with more stretch than recommended. Please keep in mind to use similar fabrics for the various colorblocks to create a nice garment. Using fabrics with different characteristics regarding stretch and weight can cause an imperfect outcome.

For the neckband you can choose to use either ribbing or use the same fabric as the dress (main fabric). The Neoma Shirt and Dress comes with pattern pieces for the different types of fabrics, but you might need to adjust depending on the amount of stretch and recovery if you choose a different type of fabric for the bands.

Neoma has been designed according to the pink kids size chart. The pattern runs from size newborn (50) up to size 14y (164). Always measure your model and use trunk and inseam measurements to choose the correct length.
