Troy Tank (NB-16Y)

The Troy Tank is a PDF sewing pattern to create a fun unisex relaxed fit summer tank. It has sligthly wider shoulder bands so theoretically you should even be able to wear a singlet underneath it. Choose between the plain option or the option with colorblocked sides for some scrapbusting or just as an extra fun pop of color. Troy features both a crew neck or a v-neck. As always with Fab For You Patterns, there’s also a tip section with some fun ideas to make even more out of the pattern.

Skill Level for the Troy Tank

The Troy Tank is absolutely suitable for beginners. The only interesting feature is the optional v-neck. However, every part of the construction is explained clearly and step by step in the instructions. If you’ve never sewn a garment before: you got this!

Suggested material for the Troy Tank

To create a Troy Tank, we suggest to use medium weight knit fabrics with at least 30% 4-way stretch like: cotton lycra, rayon spandex, French terry, sweater knit or sponge. You can also use a more light weight knit fabric, but keep in mind that you might need to size down if you choose to use a thinner fabric or a fabric type with more stretch than recommended and you don’t want an extra relaxed fit.

For the bands you can choose to use either ribbing or use the same fabric as the tank (main fabric). The Troy Tank comes with pattern pieces for the different types of fabrics, but you might need to adjust depending on the amount of stretch and recovery if you choose a different type of fabric for the bands.

Troy has been designed according to the blue kids size chart. The pattern runs from size newborn (50) up to size 16y (176). Always measure your model and use trunk and inseam measurements to choose the correct length. Please note that the blue size chart is not the same as the pink size chart.
