The Zya peplum and dress is a fun PDF sewing pattern with straps and FAB overlapping sides to create a typical summer strappy peplum or dress, but with a fun twist. You can make the overlap from front to back or the other way around. Zya also features a half circle skirt and two peplum skirts: a half circle peplum or a gathered peplum. Want an even sweeter garment?! Then you can also add a ruffle or a flounce to the neckline.
Skill Level for the Zya peplum & dress:
Zya is suitable for beginning sewists. The spaghetti straps and binding might need some practicing, but every part of the construction is explained clearly and step by step in the instructions. Keep in mind not to pull the fabric while attaching the binding.

Suggested material for the Zya peplum & dress:
To create a Zya Peplum and Dress, we suggest to use medium weight knit fabrics with at least 30% stretch like: cotton lycra or jersey. You can also use a more light weight knit fabric like cotton spandex, but keep in mind that you might need to size down if you choose to use a thinner fabric or a fabric type with more stretch than recommended. Also keep in mind that the weight of the skirt might pull the bodice down when using a less stable fabric.
For the bands you can choose to use either ribbing or use the same fabric as the dress or shirt (main fabric). The Zya peplum and dress comes with pattern pieces for the different types of fabrics, but you might need to adjust depending on the amount of stretch and recovery if you choose a different type of fabric for the bands.

Zya has been designed according to the pink kids size chart. The pattern runs from size newborn (50) up to size 14y (164). Always measure your model and use trunk measurements to choose the correct length for the top and inseam length for the skirt.
