The Finn Shirt is a cool shirt with various colorblocks and a rounded back. Finn has two different colorblocked fronts and colorblocked sleeves. You can also add a cool pocket to the upper arm of the long sleeves. Do you prefer a crew neck or a v-neck? Both are included within the pattern, so you can do as you desire. With the huge size range you’re covered from newborn up to 16. As with all Fab For You Patterns, the instructions of the Finn pattern also include an inspiring tip section to make even more variations.

Finn Shirt is perfect for scraps

The Finn Shirt features two fun colorblocked fronts as well as colorblocked sleeves. This makes the design perfect to use your smaller fabric scraps. Experiment with various fabric combinations to create a unique garment with every sew.

Finn Shirt is interchangeable

The Finn Shirt is interchangeable with the Jaxx Shirt. This makes it possible to create a true basic shirt without colorblocks but with rounded hem. Or  a completely colorblocked shirt with colorblocks on the front, back and sleeves. You can mix-and-match with endless possibilities.

You can also use the sleeves of the Ezra Shirt and Sweater or Ivan Shirt and Sweater.

Skill Level for the Finn Shirt

Finn is suitable for beginning sewists. The pattern contains a challenging v-neck, but you can also make the crew neck first to become familiar with the pattern. The rounded back hemline is also something that might be something interesting, but the instructions will provide clear and step by step help.

Suggested material for the Finn Shirt

To create a Finn Shirt, we suggest to use medium weight knit fabrics with at least 30% stretch like: Cotton lycra, jersey, French terry, (summer) sweat or interlock. You can also use a more light weight knit fabric like sponge, but keep in mind that you might need to size down if you choose to use a thinner fabric or a fabric type with more stretch than recommended.

For the bands you can choose to use either ribbing or use the same fabric as the shirt (main fabric). The Finn Shirt comes with pattern pieces for the different types of fabrics, but you might need to adjust depending on the amount of stretch and recovery if you choose a different type of fabric for the bands.

Blue Fab For You Patterns kids size chart
