The Vernon Cardigan is a sewing pattern to create a stylish cardigan with baseball collar, zipper and awesome colorblocks. Do you prefer a more basic look? That’s no problem: Vernon is fully lined and also has a plain version without colorblocks. Vernon also has various options like thumb hole cuffs, optional inseam pockets and you can even make it reversible. As with all Fab For You Patterns, the instructions of the Vernon pattern also include an inspiring tip section to make even more variations.

Vernon is fully lined and has an option to make it reversible. This gives you the possibility to make two differently styled cardigans when only attaching the zipper and collar once! Minimal effort, maximal result!
Skill Level for the Vernon Cardigan
Vernon is suitable for intermediate sewists. The pattern contains some more challenging elements like attaching a zipper, lining and a baseball collar, which make the pattern harder. However, all elements are explained clearly and step by step in the instructions.

Suggested material for the Vernon Cardigan
To create a Vernon Cardigan, we suggest to use medium weight knit fabrics with at least 20% stretch like: French terry, (summer) sweat, jogging (college) or interlock. For the lining you can use the same fabric type as the main fabric or you can use a more light weight knit fabric like cotton lycra. Keep in mind that if you choose to use a thinner fabric or a fabric type with more stretch than recommended for the main (outer) layer, you might need to size down.
